Gage stood just inside the entrance to the library, looking around as if it were a place he had never set foot in before. In all honesty, he never really had utilized the library to its full potential in his nearly seven years of education at Hogwarts. Gage wasn't really a fan of libraries, though in all honesty at the moment he was failing Transfiguration and figured now would be as good a time as any to actually do some studying for a change. Shaking his head at himself, Gage paced over to a nearby table as he pulled out a book and an overdue essay from his bag.
He plopped down in a chair, looking down at the text as if it were another language. Sometimes it seemed that way. Gage wished that Emily were there, she had always been so smart, he didn't have a doubt she could help him with his schoolwork even though she was a year behind him. Gage sighed, squinting at the text under the vain impression that it would make the letters decode themselves. With a bit of a sinking feeling he realized he hadn't ever told Emily about his dyslexia. Not that Gage was ever dishonest, though he didn't really bring the topic up. But they had been together for nearly a year now...
Gage pulled out a quill and brought it down to his essay, completely unsure of what to even put there. He sighed again, mentally reminding himself he only had until May. Just a few more months and he would never have to take exams again... He looked up at the sound of footsteps, already distracted from the essay his heart hadn't been in in the first place.

Emily was in a little bit of a funk, why she didn't know...maybe it was because she was dreading the end of the year after all once this year was over, Gage would be done with school and out there starting his life. Would he still want to be with her? She knew he'd said he would but she couldn't help but wonder, it was going to be difficult to maintain a strong relationship when she was stuck here and he was out there living his new life. To say she was going to miss him was a complete understatement.
Holding her books tightly in her arms, Emily headed into the library not paying attention to her surroundings as she came to a stop in front of the librarian. "Just wanting to return these." she said with a smile, not deterred in the slightest when all the librarian did was glare back at the young blonde. Biting down on her lip Emily took a step back from the desk and turned, her steps out the library immediatley falting when she cauught sight of Gage sat deeper inside the library obviously working on something.
If possible her smile widened even more, and her stomach fluttered pleasently. Brushing down her uniform, she quickly did a mental check of her hair, running a hand over her curls before she began making her way over to him. She had been hoping to sneak up on him but as always Gage heard her approach and immediatley looked up from his essay. Smiling softly at him, Emily gave a small wave as she finally reached the desk, "Hey handsome."
She plopped down onto the chair beside him and leaned in to press a kiss to his lips before pulling back, wincing when she caught sight of the glare the librarian shot at her once more. "So what you working on?" she asked Gage, turning back to look at him.

Gage beamed when he saw that it was none other than the girl who was always on his mind. He knew that it would be difficult to maintain their relationship once he had left school, though ever since they had gotten together he hadn't had eyes for anyone else. He was confident they could do it, the arrangement would only be for a year, and he would be determined to come down every Hogsmeade weekend. She'd probably be able to help him with his essay, though now that she was here he was grateful for an excuse to not be bothering with it.
Gage flipped shut his textbook, feeling almost a rush of relief at the gesture. Really, he probably might never do it, he had never cared terribly about his grades- just enough so he could maintain his position on the Quidditch team. But he didn't have to worry about that for the rest of his life beyond that May. For the moment he was only concerned with which team he was going to sign to, as he did have a choice between two. Puddlemere United and the Chudley Cannons. Both great teams, tempting pay, roughly equal in every way, he supposed it came down to whether he wanted to wear blue or orange.
Or perhaps he'd let Emily decide for him, maybe there was a team that she took a fancy to. "Hello gorgeous," said Gage in response, grinning through the kiss that she put on him, and completely ignoring the disapproving scowl of the librarian. They were being quiet, there was no reason for that. Gage wasn't even eating at the table like he usually did whenever he came into the library. Yes, it was probably safe to assume Gage had landed himself on her bad side permanently, though he didn't plan on coming into the library again.
With any luck this would be the last school assignment he would ever need to complete. "Transfiguration essay," said Gage, crinkling his nose slightly, "mostly busywork I'd wager. Seems unnecessary." He smiled, unceremoniously pushing his mostly empty parchment and quill aside.
